Bathing in the Volcano

This is my last Iceland post! We saved a great excursion for our last day. We went to the Blue Lagoon, which is a giant geothermal pool set out in the lava rock. The water is all milky white and blue, full of silica and sulfur, which is supposed to be very good for your skin.

It was such an amazing setting to be out in the lava rock.

My favorite part was the silica mud mask they give you. I liked it so much I went back for a second! The steam room was also pretty awesome. It was in a lava cave, and it was realllly hot. Levi enjoyed the waterfall, but little Levi did not, lol.

The kids were required to wear floaties, which was a good thing because it wasn't especially kid-friendly there. There weren't too many shallow spots. They still enjoyed it, though, because what kid doesn't like swimming??  Levi J says it was his favorite place in Iceland.

We only have GoPro footage for obvious reasons. So here's Levi's video compilation to give you a taste of our day.

Goodbye Iceland! We hate to leave! The land of ice and lava was a pretty spectacular way to start off our summer.
